Compass

Description
-
Magnetic compass (binnacle type) placed on a wooden tripod. It is a navigation tool. Inside the dome of the compass is an electric lamp (probably installed later). The magnetic compass is one of the oldest tools in shipping and it seems to be the most important 'nautical aid' with which the courses of ships are measured.
